<p>2 bowls cooked cold rice<br />
100g prawns, shelled<br />
100g chicken pieces<br />
3 pips garlic, pounded<br />
3 red chillies, chopped<br />
50g green peas, corns and diced carrots<br />
1 egg beaten<br />
4 tbsp oil</p>
<p><strong>Seasoning</strong><br />
2 tbsp thin soy sauce<br />
1/2 tsp Chinese cooking wine(optional)<br />
Some chopped spring onions for garnishing</p>
<p><strong>Method</strong></p>
<ol>

<p align="justify">Heat oil and saute the garlic.</p>

<p align="justify">Add prawns and chicken and stir fry until cooked.</p>

<p align="justify">Add red chillies, rice, green peas,</p>
</li>

<p align="justify">Stir fry until well mixed and hot</p>
</li>
<li>
<p align="justify">Add  in the seasoning, then the beaten egg and continue to fry until rice is dry.</p>

<p align="justify">Dish on to plate and garnish with spring onions.</p>

<ol>
<li>Clean, de-vein and wash the prawns well. Drain thoroughly.</li>
<li>Wash and dry parsley. Finely chop the parsley and keep aside.</li>
<li>Place prawns, butter, garlic paste, parsley, mustard paste, lemon juice and freshly crushed peppercorns in a microwave bowl.</li>
<li>Add salt and mix well. Cook, uncovered on microwave HIGH (100%) for 3 minutes. Serve hot.</li>

Tamarind &#8211; 3 cm round lump<br />
Oil &#8211; 4 tbsp<br />
Mustard &#8211; 1 tsp<br />
Onion &#8211; 1 cup, finely chopped<br />
Curry leaves &#8211; few<br />
Shelled, cleaned prawns &#8211; 500 gm<br />
Turmeric powder -1½ tsp<br />
Chili powder &#8211; 2 tsp or to taste<br />
Pepper powder &#8211; 1½ tsp<br />
Shelled and cleaned prawns &#8211; 500 gm<br />
Salt &#8211; to taste<br />
Grated coconut &#8211; 1 cup</p>

<ol>
<li>Soak tamarind in 1½ cup hot water and extract the pulp.</li>
<li>Heat the oil. Add mustard. When they crackle add onion and curry leaves. Fry till onions are brown.</li>
<li>Add prawn, salt and turmeric. Fry till prawns are cooked. Add chili and pepper powder.</li>
<li>After 30 seconds, add tamarind pulp. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add coconut and simmer till almost dry.</li>
<li>Serve with steamed rice or chapathi.</li>

<ol>
<li>Chop the fish into tiny pieces.</li>
<li>Heat oil, fry garlic till brown.</li>
<li>Add onion, fry till light brown.</li>
<li>Add all the powders.</li>
<li>Add fish, salt and tamarind.</li>
<li>Add ¼ cup of water and simmer till the fish is cooked and the mixture thick.</li>
<li>Place some filling on chapathi or paratha.</li>
<li>Sprinkle with some finely chopped fried curry leaves.</li>
<li>Roll up and serve.</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>Note:</strong><br />
Make round chapathis or layered (lacha) parathas and use any of the following fillings to give a new touch to Katti rolls.</p>

250g &#8211; dry fish chunks<br />
50g &#8211; tamarind<br />
1 &#8211; big onion<br />
2 tsp &#8211; coriander powder<br />
2 tsp &#8211; red chili powder<br />
3 tsp &#8211; grated coconut<br />
1/2 tsp &#8211; cumin seeds<br />
1/4 tsp &#8211; fenugreek seeds<br />
4 tsp &#8211; sesame oil<br />
Curry leaves, a few<br />
Salt to taste</p>

<ol>
<li>De-seed tamarind and soak in a little water</li>
<li>Wash the dry fish chunks and soak separately to remove excess salt.</li>
<li>Heat a wok, add 2 tsp sesame oil, chopped onion and fry till brown</li>
<li>Add grated coconut and fry till brown</li>
<li>Add fenugreek and cumin seeds and fry a little; add coriander powder and red chili powder.</li>
<li>Remove from flame and cool for a while.</li>
<li>Add soaked tamarind along with fried masala in a blender and blend it to a fine paste.</li>
<li>Heat the wok, pour the remaining oil, shallow fry washed dry fish chunks.</li>
<li>Remove and keep aside.</li>
<li>In the same oil add curry leaves to sputter, add masala paste, add enough water to boil, add dry fish chunks and salt, cook on a medium flame for 10-15 min</li>
<li>Reduce the gravy till it thickens.</li>
<li>Serve hot with steamed rice.</li>
</ol>

<p>How to prepare?</p>
<p>Boil the ingredients 1-23 well in a cleaned pot for 15 minutes.</p>
<p>Clean the small onions and fry it well in one teaspoon of ghee.</p>
<p>Mix the fried onions to the prepared solution and let it cool for 10 minutes.</p>
<p>Consume the Oushadha Kanji in empty stomach in the evening or as a substitute for your dinner.</p>
<p>Tips</p>
<p>Oushadha Kanji should be consumed continuously for one week or multiplies of the week like 2 weeks, three weeks etc. for a better effect.</p>
<p>Those who suffer from high Cholesterol levels may use coconut oil<br />
in place of ghee</p>
